Directions for use
Fill the calabash with 2/3 Maté. Pull the mate to the side of the calabash. Pour in a cold water background, then let it absorb for 2 to 3 minutes. Insert the bombilla. pour hot water at approximately 80°C, then leave to infuse for 2 to 5 minutes. Taste!

More about the wild green mate of Parana
Mate is still present natively in some preserved areas of Parana state, southern Brazil. It grows naturally in the shade of the forest. It is only harvested every 2 years, manually and from June to August, which gives it a higher level of phytonutrients than the cultivated mate. To ensure the preservation of the leaves, they are steamed for a few seconds, a smoother and healthier process than the old flame passage method. This preserves the taste characteristics of mate, its active ingredient content and its green appearance. The leaves are then dried then matured and finally packaged and controlled to obtain a top quality product, free of compounds harmful to health.
Our partner technically and financially supports several producer associations in the state of Paranà in Brazil, which exploit wild mate on their properties, far from areas of intensive agriculture, while preserving the surrounding Atlantic forest. This mate is produced by one of these associations bringing together around sixty families, who defend their way of life and the preservation of the local ecosystem, in the face of the advance of agribusiness.
This activity is essential for these small producers who live in harmony with the forest and harvest the mate of wild trees maintained on their properties.
